Jamo originally designed the interior for FREE'S SHOP in 2006 and then again for a redesign in 2011 when the store decided it wanted to "age together with their customers" and offer a more relaxed shopping atmosphere for a slightly older woman.

The façade is girded with a nuanced mosaic that becomes a natural part of this landscape. For this shop, which gently welcomes customers into the store, the most important part of the concept lies in its floor plan by which customers can see the next part of the store in front of them but cannot see the next area after that.

Opening Ceremony is a retail shop with its flagship store in New York, as well as other stores in New York's Ace Hotel, in Los Angeles, and its first shop overseas in Tokyo. The opening of the Tokyo store involved the large-scale renovation of an existing structure, the 7-story "Movita" building that is a part of the Seibu Department Store in Shibuya.
